BREEDING
Lexington Farm performance
horses focuses on breeding and training quality warmblood and thoroughbred
horses suitable for dressage, showing or eventing.
A broodmare herd has
been carefully selected to make sure the mares have qualities we
want to see in our foals. There are six selected thoroughbred mares
and four warmblood mares including fillies. These fillies have been
specifically bred to be the future warmblood broodmares at Lexington
Farm. The thoroughbred mare bloodlines include Lunchtime, Yeats,
Sir Dane, Todman, and Pride of Kellina.
Rather than standing
a stallion, we have chosen to access the wide range of local and
international bloodlines now available using either fresh, chilled
or frozen semen. Stallions are selected to compliment the mares
and are chosen on temperament, trainability, confirmation, competition
performance records and bloodlines. To date we have bred to Northern
Classic (Northern Congress Hol), Welts Emperor (Weltmeyer), King
of Swing (Kassiber Trak) and Driving Force (Without Fear TB), Roskymar Armistace (Hann), Fisherman's Friend (Hann), Hogan's Crusader (ASH).

Foals 2007 Season
Due to the outbreak of Equine Influenza, breeding in 2007 was cancelled.

Foals 2005 Season
The AWHA reg mare 'Bold as Brass' (Skies Above), was bred to an Australian Stock horse, 'Hogan's Crusader'. The colt foal 'Gordon' is chocolate brown with white markings and is an absolute character.
Foals 2004 Season
The grey mare BJ Kaneto Almah was bred to the licensed AWHA stallion Roskymar Armistace. The grey filly foal 'Lexington Affinity' is gorgeous, long legged, quiet and with her dam's great movement.
Foals 2003 Season
Drought conditions this season forced us to spell all the brood mares for one breeding season at Lexington Farm. Steps were taken to continually improve upon the existing group of brood mares however, and the percentage of thoroughbred brood mares was reduced. These were replaced by the warmblood mare BJ Kaneto Almah.
Almah is by Belcam (Aalto/Aachen/Danderous Dan TB). She is ACE registered (score 75.5%) and Oldenburger registered. At purchase she was in foal to BJ Kaneto Casanova (Contango II).
